De Zweedse rockband Jetbone kan de weg naar Weert zo langzamerhand bijna blindelings vinden. Vorig jaar stonden ze op Bospop, op dat grote podium kwam hun dynamische manier van performen prima tot zijn recht. Op zondagmiddag 24 maart stonden ze in het cafégedeelte van De Bosuil. Hier hebben ze al een paar keer eerder gestaan, ook op een kleiner podium kunnen ze goed uit de voeten. Deze vijf jonge rockers voegen soul en funk toe aan hun rock, de invloeden komen uit de jaren ’60 en ’70. Dit zijn mannen met een missie: Ze streven ernaar om meer rock op de radio te horen en minder sh*t.

Het was gezellig druk geworden toen de mannen iets na vier uur het podium betraden. Bassist/zanger Gurten Sjödin begroette de fans, als eerste werd het opzwepende ‘Don’ t hold me back’ gespeeld. Dit komt van hun album ‘Come out and play’ (2018). Gurten had hier de leadzang. De mannen waren direct goed op dreef, je voelde dat dit een energieke middag zou worden. Tijdens ‘Chickadee’ had gitarist Alin Riabouchkin de leadzang. Door een skiongeluk moest hij zittend spelen, toch wist hij zijn energie over te brengen. Gitarist Sebastian Engberg was behoorlijk enthousiast. Ook al hoefde hij geen grote delen van de tekst mee te zingen, hij deed dat wel.

Alin kon niet naar Sebastian en Gurten toe, dus kwamen zij naar hem toe. Naast elkaar, als drie musketiers, staken ze de hals van hun (bas)gitaar in de lucht. ‘Road in the sky’
Na de pauze speelden ze vol gas verder met ‘Are you ready?’. Het was niet alleen maar uptempo rock. In de meeste nummers waren er veranderingen in tempo en volume Deze werden op indrukwekkende wijze gespeeld, dat bleek uit het spontane applaus van de fans.
