In 2023, Wobbler’s keyboardist Lars Fredrik Frøislie released Fire Fortellinger. Now, a special version of this debut album is out. Stefano ‘Lupo’ Galifi (Museo Rosenbach) sings on Quattro Racconti. Two of the four tracks are epics lasting over 16 minutes.
The first track, “Il Cavaliere dell’Apocalisse”, already contains plenty of twists and turns. Due to my limited knowledge of Italian, I don’t understand much of the vocals, but I can tell that Stefano sings with passion. The emotion can also be heard in the music. ‘Un Posto Sotto il Cielo’ is a varied track, with a slightly boring fade out. ‘Presagio’ contains a pleasant amount of retro organ playing.
The vocals in ‘Cattedrale della Natura’ are sometimes on the edge of being too intense, but the vocal volume changes are impressive.
This album also has psychedelic influences and folk elements. You can hear the sounds of a flute and an acoustic string instrument. In addition, there are contrasts between low (bass) tones and the high (electronic) sounds of the keyboards.
The drumming definitely deserves praise, but the keyboard playing in particular is very varied. Quattro Racconti is highly recommended for lovers of complex (retro) prog rock.

Al in de eerste, ‘Il Cavaliere dell’Apocalisse’, zijn er talloze wendingen. Door mijn beperkte kennis van het Italiaans, versta ik weinig van de zang, maar ik merk dat Stefano met bezieling zingt. De emotie is ook te horen in de muziek. ‘Un Posto Sotto il Cielo’ is een gevarieerde track, met een beetje saaie fade out. Presagio’ bevat aangenaam veel retro orgelspel.
De zang in ‘Cattedrale della Natura’ zit soms op de grens van wel of niet te intens, maar de vocale volumewisselingen zijn indrukwekkend.
Dit album heeft ook psychedelische invloeden en folk elementen. Je hoort de klanken van een fluit, en van een akoestisch snaren instrument. Daarnaast zijn er contrasten van lage (bas) tonen en de hoge (elektronische) klanken van de toetsen.
Het drumspel verdient absoluut een compliment, maar vooral het toetsenwerk is zeer gevarieerd. ’Quattro Racconti is een aanrader voor de liefhebber van complexe (retro) prog rock.
