Zo langzamerhand zijn we gewend aan de naam ‘Dreamwalkers Inc. Oprichter Tom de Wit noemde de band vroeger TDW. Eerst kwam er de toevoeging ‘and Dreamwalkers Inc’ bij. Sinds een tijdje heeft Tom zijn initialen weggelaten, en heet de band ‘Dreamwalkers Inc’.
In augustus 2019 gaf Dreamwalkers Inc een concert in Het Parktheater in Alphen aan den Rijn. Van dit concert is een cd uitgekomen met de titel ‘A Night at the Theatre’.

Aan het begin van ‘Chameleon’ is er een vleugje muziek.
Toms lage stem vormt een mooi contrast met de prachtige stem van Radina Dimcheva. Dit deel is ingetogen gezongen en gespeeld. De wending naar meer power is bijzonder. Het geluid van de stevige muziek is iets te dof. De symfonische elementen zijn wel helder. De ‘koorzang’ sluit naadloos aan p het geheel.
Tom vestigt terecht de aandacht op het gave gitaarspel van Lennert Kemper. Het drumwerk van Kenneth Martens zeer goed. Je voelt de energie uit de boxen spatten.

Deze energie blijft bestaan in ‘Surface Scratching’. Met vlagen zingt Tom en hoog tempo, maar zijn uitspraak is toch behoorlijk duidelijk. Hier is het gitarist Norbert Veenbrink die gaaf gitaarspel laat horen.

Het intro van ‘Dirge’ is heel herkenbaar, en kruipt onder mijn huid. Tom zingt behoorlijk laag. Dit in tegenstelling met de heldere stem van gastzangeres Cailyn Erlandsson. In de samenzang kleuren hun stemmen prima bij elkaar. Zang en muziek zijn in harmonie. Er zijn mooie details door onder andere Vincent Reuling op de toetsen.

Het intro van ‘Aphrodisia’ is ook heel herkenbaar. Het eerste deel van dit duet is ingetogen. Er is mooi vioolspel te horen. Langzaam nemen tempo en volume toe. In het uptempo stuk slingert Tom een hele stroom woorden door de zaal. Onvoorstelbaar dat hij zijn tong er niet over breekt. De gesproken woorden die hierop volgen komen ook uit zijn mond. Het strak gespeeld instrumentale stuk is, mede door bassist Peter den Bakker, super. Dat geldt ook voor het klein gespeelde en gezongen deel wat hierna komt.

‘The More We Remember’ start heel rustig. Ook al zijn de strijkinstrumenten niet live aanwezig, ze weten wel een gevoelige snaar te raken.
We horen dat Tom zijn fans vraag om interactie, helaas krijg je hun bijdrage niet echt mee op cd. Maar door de reactie van Tom weten we dat er wel respons kwam van uit de zaal.
Ondanks de vele wendingen verloopt dit complexe nummer over het algemeen zeer goed. Een hele prestatie, want deze indrukwekkende epic tikt ruim 22 minuten aan.

Na ‘New Strength’ kondigt Tom ‘Anthem’, het laatste nummer aan. Ook deze wordt prima gespeeld en gezongen. Na het voorstellen van de bandleden eindigt deze cd helaas zonder toegift.

Bijna in alle power delen is Toms zang krachtig genoeg. De diverse emoties zoals frustratie weet hij prima over te brengen. Ook in de klein gespeelde en gezongen delen legt de juiste emotie in zijn stem. De de muziek in metal delen klinkt iets te dof. Maar de energie, de passie en kwaliteit van de bandleden komt goed naar voren. Last but not least de blend van stemmen van Radina en Tom is zeer goed.

The sound of the heavier music is a bit too dull. The sound of the symphonic elements is clear. The ‘choral singing’ fits seamlessly with the whole.
Tom rightly draws attention to the awesome guitar playing of Lennert Kemper. The drumming of Kenneth Martens is very good. You can feel the energy splashing out of the speakers.

This energy remains in ‘Surface Scratching‘. Tom sings with gusts and high tempo, but his pronunciation is quite clear. Here it is guitarist Norbert Veenbrink who shows great guitar playing.

The intro of ‘Dirge‘ is very recognizable, and gets under my skin. Tom sings quite low. This in contrast with the bright voice of guest vocalist Cailyn Erlandsson.
Togehter, their voices blend very well. Vocals and music are in harmony. There are nice details by, among others, Vincent Reuling on the keys.

The intro of ‘Aphrodisia‘ is also very recognizable. The first part of this duet is subdued. There is beautiful violin playing. Slowly tempo and volume increase. In the up-tempo piece Tom swings a whole stream of words through the hall. Unbelievable that he doesn’t twist his tongue with it. The spoken words that follow also come out of his mouth. The tightly played instrumental piece is, also by bass player Peter den Bakker, super. The same goes for the small played and sung part that follows.

The More We Remember‘ starts very quietly. Even though the string instruments are not present live, they know how to touch me.
We hear that Tom asks his fans for interaction, unfortunately you don’t really get their contribution on CD. But because of Tom’s reaction we know that there was a response from the audience.
Despite the many twists and turns this complex song generally goes very well. Quite an achievement, because this impressive epic ticks over 22 minutes.

After ‘New Strength‘ Tom announces ‘Anthem‘, the last song. Also this one is played and sung very well. After introducing the band members, this cd unfortunately ends without encore.

Almost in all power parts Tom’s vocals are powerful enough. He knows how to convey various emotions like frustration. Also, in the small played and sung parts, he has the right emotion in his voice. The music in metal parts sounds a bit too dull. But the energy, passion and quality of the band members comes out well. Last but not least the blend of voices of Radina and Tom is very good.
