American hard rock band Tyketto has been around since the late 1980s. There was a break of a few years, but the band is active for many years now. These rockers have performed at De Bosuil<\/a> in Weert before. On the first Friday of June, another gig was scheduled. First, Belgium’s Wildheart was allowed to take the stage. This hard rock\/glam metal band that drew inspiration from the 80s. The influences of the likes of Whitesnake, M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce, and Van Halen could not only be heard in their music, but also reflected in their outfits. They all played wireless, allowing for lots of freedom of movement across the stage. These rockers use stage names. The lead singer’s name is Farty, he had decent power to his voice. Guitarists Juice and Foxx granted each other the solos, and soloing, they could! Farty interacted enthusiastically with the audience, which sometimes reacted a bit cautiously. The tempo was very fast in ‘Lovehunter’, but ‘Rumours’ also had slightly quieter pieces. The rhythm section consists of bassist Stevie Dee and drummer Thunderberck, they too played enthusiastically and energetically. Farty’s voice remained good until the end, he reached the vocal outbursts effortlessly. Wildheart was a good support act, hopefully they will return to De Bosuil<\/a> again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tyketto<\/strong>
People had obviously come for Tyketto, on this night the tour ended for these Americans. Danny Vaughn greeted us with: “It’s been a few years, but we’re finally back”. The first song was ‘Reach’, immediately it was clear that Danny had not forgotten how to sing, play guitar and perform. Keyboardist Ged Rylands contributed backing vocals. Danny praised drummer Johnny Dee. This one had backing vocals in several songs, twirling regularly. Before the start of ‘Wings’, Danny put his guitar away. This was one of the songs in which bassist Chris Childs did the backing vocals. Danny engaged the audience to sing along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faithless<\/strong>
There was a nice interaction between Danny and the fans singing and clapping along. The band members were clearly enjoying themselves. Danny introduced guitarist Harry Scott Elliott. He started ‘Faithless’ with a beautiful, compelling solo. Danny played on a guitar with 12 strings. The tempo and volume changes were well played. Where it needed to be, Danny sang with emotion. Where he could, he showed fun. Every song was rewarded with considerable applause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heroes Die Young<\/strong>
In between songs, Danny said, among other things, that he was happy to be allowed, and still able, to tour again at 61. He expressed his appreciation to the De Bosuil team, and to the tour manager. In addition, Danny explained that during the tour, Tyketto were sometimes only allowed to play for one hour. But tonight the band was allowed to play longer, and he was happy about that. An extensive and varied set was played. Of course, the band Waysted was not forgotten. From this band, ‘Heaven Tonight and the beautiful ‘Heroes Die Young’ were played. During the subdued start, Danny sang sensitively. Unfortunately, some talked through it. That talking was no longer heard after a turn to full-on power. Harry again showed compelling guitar playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lay Your Body Down<\/strong>
Danny explained that he likes the Dutch but that they do have a reputation, using hand gestures to illustrate babbling. He asked for silence before ‘Standing alone’. The start was subdued, fans softly singing along. The band’s harmony vocals and guitar playing got under your skin. This ballad was sung and played powerfully but sensitively, a very special moment of this evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was followed by a drum solo. With ‘Lay Your Body Down’, the mood became upbeat again. Danny asked the audience to sing along, which of course they did. Danny held the microphone stand above the heads of those present. Johny drummed, Chris played cool bass grooves. It was lovely to hear just these two men. Danny stood facing Chris. He wordlessly sang after was Chris played. Moments later, Harry also played again, he was jumping and dancing. Danny did the same during instrumental pieces. His dyed black hair is now a beautiful grey, but he still had energy for ten. Again, the band’s good harmony vocals positively stood out. This rousing song ended with a nice piece of drumming. From U.F.O, they played ‘Mother Mary’. Their own ‘Sail Away’ became a party, after this the band left the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon they were back for the encore. This consisted of ‘Last Sunset’ and ‘Forever Young’. Of course, there was plenty of singing along. One more time, Tyketto gave everything they had, and it was appreciated. After a thunderous final applause, Tyketto left the stage. But they will probably come back again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tyketto\u2019s frontman heeft nog steeds energie voor tien<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

De Amerikaanse hard rock band Tyketto bestaat sinds eind jaren \u201980. Er was wel een pauze van een paar jaar, maar de band is al weer jaren actief. Deze rockers stonden al vaker in De Bosuil<\/a> in Weert. Op de eerste vrijdag van juni stond er weer een optreden gepland. Eerst mocht de Belgische Wildheart het podium betreden. Deze hardrock\/glam metalband die zich heeft laten inspireren door de jaren \u201980. De invloeden van onder andere Whitesnake, M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce, en Van Halen zijn niet alleen te terug te horen in hun muziek, maar ook terug te zien in hun outfits. Ze speelden allemaal wireless, waardoor ze volop over het podium konden bewegen. Deze rockers maken gebruik van stagenames. De leadzanger heet Farty, hij had behoorlijke power op zijn stem. Gitaristen Juice en Foxx gunden elkaar de solo\u2019s, en soleren, dat konden ze! Farty maakte op een enthousiaste manier contact met het publiek, dat soms wat voorzichtig reageerde. In \u2018Lovehunter\u2019 lag het tempo flink hoog, maar \u2018Rumours\u2019 had ook iets rustigere stukken. De ritmesectie bestaat uit bassist Stevie Dee en drummer Thunderberck, ook zij speelden enthousiast en energiek. De stem van Farty bleef tot en met het einde goed, hij haalde de vocale uithalen moeiteloos. Wildheart was een goede support act, hopelijk komen ze nog eens terug in De Bosuil<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tyketto<\/strong>
Men was natuurlijk gekomen voor Tyketto, op deze avond eindigde de tour voor deze Amerikanen. Danny Vaughn begroette ons met: \u201cIt\u2019s been a few years, but wer\u2019e finally back\u201d. Het eerste nummer was \u2018Reach\u2019, meteen was duidelijk dat Danny het zingen, gitaar spelen en performen niet was verleerd. Toetsenist Ged Rylands had een aandeel in de backing vocals. Danny roemde de drummer Johnny Dee. Deze had in verschillende nummers de achtergrondzang, hij twirlde regelmatig. Voor aanvang van \u2018Wings\u2019 zette Danny zijn gitaar weg. Dit was \u00e9\u00e9n van de nummers waarin bassist Chris Childs de achtergrondzang deed. Danny betrok het publiek erbij om mee te zingen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faithless<\/strong>
Er was een mooi wisselwerking tussen Danny en de meezingende en mee klappende fans. De bandleden hadden er duidelijk plezier in. Danny stelde gitarist Harry Scott Elliott voor. Hij startte \u2018Faithless\u2019 met een prachtige, meeslepende solo. Danny speelde op een gitaar met twaalf snaren. De tempo en volume wisselingen werden goed gespeeld. Daar waar het moest, zong Danny met emotie. Daar waar het kon toonde hij plezier. Ieder nummer werd met een flink applaus beloond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heroes Die Young<\/strong>
Tussen de nummers door vertelde Danny onder andere dat hij blij was dat hij weer mocht, en nog kon touren op zijn 61e. Hij sprak zijn waardering uit voor de medewerkers van De Bosuil en voor de tourmanager. Daarnaast vertelde Danny dat Tyketto tijdens de tour soms maar \u00e9\u00e9n uur mochten spelen. Maar vanavond mocht de band langer op het podium staan, en daar was hij blij mee. Er werd een uitgebreide en gevarieerde set gespeeld. De band Waysted werd natuurlijk niet vergeten. Van deze band werden \u2018Heaven Tonight en het prachtige \u2018Heroes Die Young\u2019 gespeeld. Tijdens de ingetogen start zong Danny gevoelig. Helaas praatten sommige er doorheen. Dat praten was na een wending naar volle bak power niet meer te horen. Harry liet weer meeslepend gitaarspel horen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lay Your Body Down<\/strong>
Danny vertelde dat hij de Nederlanders graag mag, maar dat ze wel een reputatie hebben, waarbij hij met aan handgebaar het kletsen uitbeeldde. Hij vroeg om stilte voor \u2018Standing alone\u2019. De start was ingetogen, fans zongen zachtjes mee. De samenzang van de band en gitaarspel kropen onder je huid. Deze ballad werd krachtig maar gevoelig gezongen en gespeeld, een heel speciaal moment van deze avond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daarna volgde een drumsolo. Met \u2018Lay Your Body Down\u2019 werd de sfeer weer vrolijk. Danny vroeg het publiek mee te zingen, dat werd natuurlijk gedaan. Danny hield de microfoonstandaard boven de hoofden van de aanwezigen. Johny drumde, Chris speelde gave bass grooves. Het was mooi om alleen deze twee mannen te horen. Danny stond tegen over Chris. Hij zong woordeloos na was Chris speelde. Even later speelde ook Harry weer mee, hij stond te springen en te dansen. Dat deed Danny ook tijdens instrumentale stukken. Zijn geverfde zwarte haar is nu mooi grijs, maar hij had nog energie voor tien. Weer viel de goede samenzang van de band positief op. Dit opzwepende nummer eindigde met een mooi staaltje drumwerk. Van U.F.O speelden ze \u2018Mother Mary\u2019. Hun eigen \u2018Sail Away\u2019 werd een feestje, hierna verliet de band de b\u00fchne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al snel waren ze terug voor de toegift. Deze bestond uit \u2018Last Sunset\u2019 en \u2018Forever Young\u2019. Natuurlijk werd er volop meegezongen. Nog even gaf Tyketto alles was ze hadden, en dat werd gewaardeerd. Na een daverend slotapplaus verliet Tyketto het podium.
