Deze artrock\/ prog rockband bestaat zo\u2019n 15 jaar bestaat. Bij liveoptredens voel je de passie van <strong><em>Jargon<\/em><\/strong> beter dan op hun cd\u2019s. \u2018<strong><em>The Fading Thought<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 is het eerste soloalbum van<strong><em> Jargon<\/em><\/strong>. Ik hoop dat zijn bezieling op deze cd duidelijk naar voren komt.<br>\u2018<strong><em>The Fading Thought<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 opent met het instrumentale \u2018<strong>The Film<\/strong>\u2019. Het zachte en tedere pianospel komt onder de handen van Jargon vandaan. Daar komen de sombere klanken van strijkinstrumenten bij, het raakt me. Langzaam wordt er iets sneller en lichter gespeeld, maar de emotie blijft. De verandering terug naar ingetogen verloopt gracieus. De strijkinstrumenten zijn soms heel subtiel op de achtergrond te horen. Op andere momenten komen ze meer naar de voorgrond, alles is in complete harmonie. Het einde is prachtig minimalistisch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tempo en volume liggen in \u2018<strong>In Search Of The Invisible Thin Line<\/strong>\u2019 vrijwel meteen hoger, maar de klassieke elementen blijven. Jargon\u2019s stem sluit goed aan bij de muziek. Het geheel luistert makkelijk weg, toch zit alles fantastisch gedetailleerd in elkaar. De opbouw naar het einde heeft een mooi vleugje dramatiek. Non stop loopt dit over naar het instrumentale \u2018<strong>Dance Of The Framed Words<\/strong>\u2019. Hier zit ook een prima gedoseerd stukje drama in verwerkt. <br>De eerste zinnen van <strong><em>Jargon<\/em><\/strong> in \u2018<strong>The Fading Thought<\/strong>\u2019 zijn breekbaar gezongen. Als hij even later met meer volume zingt, blijft hij overtuigen. De klassieke invloeden zijn even weg, maar de muziek is nog steeds intrigerend. Het geluid van de keyboard is mooi verdeeld over de koptelefoon. Zelfs met alleen zijn stem en rustig pianospel blijft<strong> Jargon<\/strong> mijn aandacht volledig vasthouden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jargon<\/strong> heeft alle teksten en muziek geschreven. Maar Nikitas Kissonas heeft de muziek voor het strijkers kwartet gecomponeerd en gearrangeerd. In het instrumentale \u2018<strong>Light<\/strong>\u2019 laten ze horen zijn deze mannen meesters zijn in \u201cless is more\u201d.<br>Ieder nummer wordt met passie gespeeld en gezongen. Zo ook \u2018<strong>Time Is Running Out<\/strong>\u2019.<br>Het meest emotionele nummer is wellicht \u2018<strong>How Can I?<\/strong>\u2019 Dit nummer gaat over hoe iemand zich staande houdt in een depressie, zonder dat de duisternis vat op hem krijgt. <br>De eerste zinnen zijn bijna fluisterend en klinken vervormd. De stem van Lupe vormt een mooie aanvulling. Ineens gaan tempo in zang en muziek omhoog. De elektronische kant van de toetsen klinkt nu samen met licht rockende elementen. De mysterieuze sfeer blijft, deze past bij de verwarring. Er zijn nogal wat veranderingen in zang en muziek, soms is de sfeer bijna bizar. Dat maakt het alleen nog maar boeiender. Uiteindelijk wordt de strijd om een \u2018normaal\u2019 leven te leiden verloren. De hectische opbouw naar het einde is prima gekozen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018<strong>The Last Temptation<\/strong>\u2019 is ook gevuld met bezieling. Zang en muziek blijven constant een eenheid vormen. Alle nummers zijn prachtig opgebouwd. Daarom zijn we veel te snel zijn we aangekomen bij het laatste nummer \u2018<strong>Window To The World<\/strong>\u2019. Hierin wisselen rockende delen soms plotseling af met klein gespeelde, klassieke stukken. <br>Deze klein gezongen zinnen over \u201c<em>mother<\/em>\u201d raken mij. <br>De langzame opgebouwde verandering naar rock verweven met klassiek die hierop volgt is subliem gekozen. Nu klinkt er zoveel onrust in zang het muziek dat het aanvoelt als radeloosheid. Deze onverwachte climax is fantastisch, langzaam dooft de paniek uit. Dan is het stil\u2026 deze stilte laat ik even op mij inwerken. <br>Hoewel de geluidskwaliteit iets beter had gekund is de pure sound zeker goed. Het evenwicht tussen toetsen en strijkinstrumenten is perfect. Jargon&#8217;s voice fits the music well. The whole thing is easy to listen to, yet everything is fantastically detailed. The build-up to the end has a nice touch of drama. Nonstop this turns into the instrumental &#8216;<strong>Dance Of The Framed Words<\/strong>&#8216;. This also contains a well dosed piece of drama. <br>The first sentences of Jargon in &#8216;<strong><em>The Fading Thought<\/em><\/strong>&#8216; are sung fragile. When he sings a little later with more volume, he continues to convince. The classical influences are gone for a while, but the music is still intriguing. The sound of the keyboard is nicely distributed over the headphones. Even with only his voice and quiet piano playing, Jargon completely captures my attention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Jargon<\/em><\/strong> wrote all the lyrics and music. But Nikitas Kissonas composed and arranged the music for the string quartet. In the instrumental &#8216;<strong>Light<\/strong>&#8216; they show these men are masters in &#8220;less is more&#8221;.<br>Every song is played and sung with passion. So is &#8216;<strong>Time Is Running Out<\/strong>&#8216;.<br>Perhaps the most emotional song is &#8216;<strong>How Can I?<\/strong>&#8216; This song is about how someone handles a depression, without the darkness getting a grip on him. <br>The first sentences are almost whispered and they sound distorted. Lupe&#8217;s voice is a nice addition. Suddenly the pace of singing and music goes up. The electronic aspect of the keys now sounds together with slightly rocking elements. The mysterious atmosphere remains, it fits the confusion. There are quite a few changes in vocals and music, sometimes the atmosphere is almost bizarre. That only makes it even more fascinating. In the end, the battle for a &#8216;normal&#8217; life is lost. The hectic build-up to the end is well chosen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;<strong>The Last Temptation<\/strong>&#8216; is also filled with inspiration. Vocals and music remain a constant unity. All songs are beautifully structured. That&#8217;s why we arrived far too fast at the last song &#8216;<strong>Window To The World<\/strong>&#8216;. Here rocking parts sometimes suddenly alternate with small, classical pieces. <br>These quietly sung phrases about &#8220;<em>mother<\/em>&#8221; touch me. <br>The slow built up change to rock interwoven with the classic that follows is sublime chosen. Now there&#8217;s so much unrest in singing the music that it feels like despair. This unexpected climax is fantastic, slowly the panic quenches. Then it&#8217;s quiet\u2026 I&#8217;ll let this silence sink in on me. <br>Although the sound quality could have been slightly better, the pure sound is certainly good. The balance between keys and strings is perfect.
