Ze voegen jazz en psychedelische elementen toe. Een aantal van de vijf bandleden speelt diverse instrumenten. Jakob Aistleitner speelt onder andere glockenspiel, fluit, bas en gitaar. Dominik Wallner speelt een groot aantal toetsinstrumenten, waaronder: celesta, mellotron, clavinet en natuurlijk piano en orgel.<br>Het album \u2018<strong><em>Krasna Hora<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 is vernoemd naar het gelijknamige dorpje in de Tsjechi\u00eb waar de nummers geschreven zijn. Het thema van de nummers is hoe de mens zich voelt als hij\/zij alleen is, of als hij\/zij in een (bepaalde) groep is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hoewel deze plaat al uit de herfst van vorig jaar is, wil ik toch nog een review schrijven. <br>Want ik kan dit album niet loslaten. In \u2018<strong>Overture<\/strong>\u2019 komen de toetsen heerlijk aan bod. Soms is de muziek bombastisch, op andere momenten weer ingetogen. Ritme en volume zijn zeer gevarieerd. De zang bestaat af en toe uit meerdere laagjes. De kleur hiervan vormt prima blend. Ook in de muziek hoor je met vlagen veel laagjes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Muziek en zang in \u2018<strong>Foetus<\/strong>\u2019 klinken gedempt en wat vervormd, maar dat hoort duidelijk zo. <br>Dit is minimalistisch en experimenteel. De transformatie is langzaam, maar boeiend. De muziek wordt even chaotisch, waarna er babygehuil en een piepend geluid volgt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aan het begin van \u2018<strong>Achluphobia<\/strong>\u2019 (= achluofobie) hoor je zacht baby \u2018gebrabbel\u2019 en hele zachte, experimentele muziek. Achluofobie is de angst voor duisternis. De muziek en geluidjes hebben echter een rustgevende werking. De percussie is bijzonder qua ritme en klank. Er zitten een paar vrij lange, maar gave rusten in deze track verwerkt. Gaandeweg krijgt vooral het gitaarspel meer volume en een vleugje rock. Na zo\u2019n negen minuten klinken de eerste woorden. De duisternis (en de angst hiervoor) komt hierin naar voren. Hoewel het geheel niet angstaanjagend klinkt, hoor je wel degelijk wat onrust in de muziek. Als de muziek langzaam zachter wordt, kruipt dit onder mijn huid. Het ingetogen stuk is dromerig van karakter. De uitgebreide opbouw naar het einde is mooi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018<strong>Silent Departure<\/strong>\u2019 is sober, dit komt vooral door de altviool. De tekst wordt deels gefluisterd, deels gezongen. Ook deze mooie, rustige track is prima in balans. <br>\u2018<strong>The Last Journey<\/strong>\u2019 is heel toepasselijke titel van het laatste nummer. Met lang gerekte tonen lijkt het nummer te eindigen, maar dat blijkt niet zo te zijn. Nu is de muziek bijna bizar. <strong><em>Blank Manuskript<\/em><\/strong> zoekt hiermee de grenzen op. Verwondering, en vervolgens bewondering over de manier waarop deze laatste track eindigt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alle tracks op \u2018<strong><em>Krasna Hora<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 zijn boeiend opgebouwd, ze bevatten volop veranderingen in tempo en volume. Het gitaarspel is regelmatig in meerdere laagjes. De verschillende toetsinstrumenten smelten soms samen met de overige muziek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Er zijn veel details, en allerlei geluidjes toegevoegd. Daarnaast zijn er diverse cross overs. <br>De (free) jazz in is de ene keer subtiel aanwezig, en de andere keer heel duidelijk. Doordat de geluidskwaliteit erg goed is, komen ook de klein gespeelde delen goed tot hun recht. Deze minimalistische delen zorgen ervoor dat je niet \u2018overprikkeld\u2019 of \u2018overvoerd\u2019 raakt door de bijzondere composities. Het geheel komt dat experimenteel, misschien zelfs licht excentriek over. Fascinerend is het in ieder geval wel. <strong><em>Blank Manuskript<\/em><\/strong> heeft me enorm nieuwsgierig gemaakt over hoe ze dit live gaan uitvoeren. Lang hoef ik niet te wachten. In &#8216;<strong>Overture<\/strong>&#8216; the keyboards are wonderfully presented. Sometimes the music is bombastic, at other times it&#8217;s subdued. Rhythm and volume are very varied. Sometimes the vocals consist of several layers. The colour of these layers forms an excellent blend. Also, in the music you hear a lot of layers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Music and vocals in &#8216;<strong>Foetus<\/strong>&#8216; sound muffled and somewhat distorted, but that&#8217;s clearly how it should be. This is minimalistic and experimental. The transformation is slow, but fascinating. The music becomes chaotic for a moment, followed by baby crying and beeping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the beginning of &#8216;<strong>Achluphobia<\/strong>&#8216; you hear soft baby &#8216;babbling&#8217; and very soft, experimental music. Achluophobia is the fear of darkness. However, the music and sounds have a calming effect. The percussion is special in terms of rhythm and sound.  There are a few fairly long, but cool rests in this track. Gradually, especially the guitar playing gets more volume and a touch of rock. After about nine minutes the first words sound. The darkness (and the fear of it) comes to the fore. Although it does not sound terrifying at all, you do hear some restlessness in the music. As the music slowly softens, it gets under my skin. The subdued piece is dreamy in spirit. The extensive build-up to the end is beautiful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;<strong>Silent Departure<\/strong>&#8216; is sober, this is mainly due to the viola. The text is partly whispered, partly sung. This beautiful, quiet track is also well balanced. <br>&#8216;<strong>The Last Journey<\/strong>&#8216; is very suitable title of the last song. With long stretched tones the song seems to end, but that does not seem to be. Now the music is almost bizarre. <strong><em>Blank Manuskript<\/em><\/strong> explores the boundaries with it. Amazement, and then admiration for the way this last track ends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All tracks on &#8216;<strong><em>Krasna Hora<\/em><\/strong>&#8216; are fascinatingly constructed, they contain plenty of changes in tempo and volume. The guitar playing is regularly in multiple layers. The different keyboard instruments regularly merge with the other music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a lot of details, and all kinds of sounds added. Next to that there are several cross overs. <br>The (free) jazz in is sometimes subtly present and the other time very clear. Because the sound quality is very good, the small played parts also come into their own. These minimalistic parts make sure that you don&#8217;t get &#8216;over excited&#8217; or &#8216;overloaded&#8217; by the special compositions. The whole comes across as experimental, maybe even slightly eccentric. Fascinating in any case. <strong><em>Blank Manuskript<\/em><\/strong> has made me extremely curious about how they are going to perform this live. I don&#8217;t have to wait long.
