Dragonknight is a new Finnish metal band founded by metal veterans.
They make accessible power metal with beautiful melodies, catchy rhythms, cool riffs and classical elements. Their music is for lovers of bands such as Blind Guardian and Sabaton.
The instrumental \u2018Through Sea And Fire\u2019 opens almost fairytale-like. The light classical music and choral vocals become more dramatic, but it misses just the warmth of a true cinematic allure. The vocal tracks that follow contain changes in tempo and volume, plus a fine balance of metal and classical elements. Both the lead vocals (Mikael Salo) and the stacked vocals are fine. But when the words \u2018Majesty! General!’ in \u201cThe Imperator\u201d, and the sword-sounds would have sounded rougher, the battle would have been \u201cpalpable\u201d. Also in \u2018Pirates, Bloody Pirates!\u2019 some of the shout outs could have been a bit heavier, yet you can still feel the atmosphere. Most of these 11 songs are (mostly) rousing, only \u2018Astarte Rise\u2019 and \u2018Return To Atlantis\u2019( with its unexpected piano sounds) are calm. \u2018Legions\u2019 is a delightful debut, inviting you to turn up the volume. The sometimes slightly predictable structure makes it accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
