The scattering of leaves is often seen as negative. But actually this is a beginning of a new bloom. Change leads to growth. \u2018The Scattering of Leaves\u2019 is a way of thanking those closest to us who shine like stars in the dark, supporting and guiding us.
The instrumental opening track is melancholic. The vocal \u2018The Scattering of Leaves\u2019 is restful, but also features slightly rocking guitar playing. The high (stacked) vocals and the melange of keys give \u2018Venus\u2019 a special atmosphere. With the ticking sound, \u2018The Ticking Clock\u2019 seems to end, but it continues. The \u2018classic\u2019 wordless vocals fit beautifully with the music. A melange of spherical elements and slightly rocking parts follows. The words of \u2018Stormy Clouds or Brightly Lit\u2019 are romantic; the ending is quite unexpected.
The various vocalists have clear pronunciation; the lyrics are not heavy-handed.
Most of the twists and turns are quite gradual, which suits the calmness of this album.
The net proceeds of \u2018The Scattering of Leaves\u2019 will go to two cancer charities: Maggie’s in the UK and KWF in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het vallen van de bladeren wordt vaak als negatief gezien. Maar eigenlijk is dit een begin van een nieuwe bloei. Veranderingen lijden tot groei. \u2018The Scattering of Leaves\u2019 is een bedankje aan de naasten die als sterren in het donker schijnen, en ons steunen en begeleiden.
De instrumentale openingstrack is melancholisch. Het vocale \u2018The Scattering of Leaves\u2019 is rustgevend, maar heeft ook licht rockend gitaarspel. De hoge (gestapelde) zang en de melange van de toetsen geven \u2018Venus\u2019 een bijzonde sfeer. Met het tikken van de klok lijkt \u2018The Ticking Clock\u2019 te eindigen, maar het gaat verder. De \u201cklassieke\u201d woordeloze zang sluit mooi aan bij de muziek. Er volgt een melange van sferische elementen en licht rockende delen. De woorden van \u2018Stormy Clouds or Brightly Lit\u2019 zijn romantisch, het einde is vrij onverwacht.
De verschillende vocalisten hebben een duidelijke uitspraak, de teksten zijn niet zwaarmoedig.
De meeste wendingen verlopen vrij geleidelijk, dat past bij de kalme opzet van dit album.
De netto-opbrengst van \u2018The Scattering of Leaves\u2019 gaat naar twee goede doelen voor kankerbestrijding: Maggie\u2019s in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en KWF in Nederland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
