Three of the five band members of The Flying Norsemen come from the band Arabs In Aspic. Their influences from the 70s with stoner, doom and psychedelica, can definitely be heard on debut album \u2018The Flying Norsemen\u2019.
The first “part” of ‘Norseide’ is calm. The lyrics are in Norwegian, so I don’t understand them. But that doesn’t matter, because vocals and music are in harmony. On the cover, you see a kind of Poseidon. No sampled sounds have been added to \u2018PoseidJohn\u2019. Yet the lyrics of this epic are about a sailing trip to the open sea. In all four songs, the instruments are balanced. In addition, the alternation\/melange between psychedelia and stoner\/doom is very good. Extended instrumental parts are interspersed with vocal pieces. The Theremin plays an important role at times. Both the intros from the outros are composed with precision. The songs are constructed with great variety. And there are numerous twists and turns, sometimes sudden, and other times gradual. Either way, it is always surprising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
