Multi-instrumentalist Leon Alvarado is also an award-winning designer of album covers\/tour posters (for Yes, Genesis et al). ‘The Changing Tide’ features two covers of Pink Floyd. Their influences can also be heard in Leon’s own songs.
In the background of ‘The Equilibrium Of Time’, time ticks, in the foreground a clock is striking.
There are interactions between spherical music and rock, for instance. And stringinstruments-versus keyboards. The heartbeat returns several times. The lingering tones give ‘A Day Of A Different Sort’ a calm atmosphere. The beautiful guitar playing slowly gains power. The sounds of an accident come unexpectedly. Most of the twists in ‘A View From A Different Room’ (with the beautiful saxophone playing) flow into each other. ‘Dance of The Pink Elephants’ is an intriguing cover, the blend between highs and lows is fine. The sound of rippling water suits the mood of the title track. The sounds and repetitions give ‘Brain Damage’ its own sound. This interpretation is a daring, but successful one.
