\u2018Shelter\u2019 is the sixth album by Norwegian band \u2018Laughing Stock\u2019. This album tells of a journey to \u2018Shelter\u2019. In this light, peaceful world, people (along with Shelter’s Master) live in harmony with nature. The title track has a peaceful atmosphere, the mysterious words and music (with violin playing) forming a whole. \u2018Roots Go Deep\u2019 has a mix of melancholy, acoustic guitar playing and rock. The balance between highs and lows (from the viola, among others) is very good. Flute playing lightens the austerity.
Tim Bowness is one of the guest musicians, he sings on the final track. His voice suits it throughout the song. In a few songs, the vocals sound distorted, together with the quiet music this gives a surreal atmosphere. Occasionally, my attention loosens for a moment. Vocals and the (minimalist) music are sometimes sugary, this is interspersed with (stoner) rock elements. The twists and turns between these are often intriguing, The sound is wonderfully spread over the headphones. All the time, the beautiful blend between the instruments stands out positively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
